Does my recipe for buttered bacon chicken sound good?

Season the chicken (drumsticks) with salt, pepper and dip in an egg.

Melt about 2-3 tblspoons of butter.

Take raw bacon, dip it in the butter and then wrap it around the chicken drumstick.

Take a baking pan, 2 tblspoons of olive oil to the bottom of the pan to grease it up so theres no sticking. Bake chicken on 350 for 45-50 minutes.Does my recipe for buttered bacon chicken sound good?
Yeah, it sounds tasty, but really unhealthy. You don't need to dip bacon in butter and cover with olive oil. That's 3 sources of fat. And you don't need the egg either, unless you are going to bread it.

I think you should just wrap the drumsticks in bacon and bake it. You don't need anything else. The bacon will provide enough grease so nothing should stick.Does my recipe for buttered bacon chicken sound good?
Okay, first problem, why are you dipping the chicken in egg? Traditionally you would dip in egg as part of a two or three part breading process(flour/egg/bread crumbs, or egg/flour, or egg/bc), the purpose of the egg is to make a dry ingredient stick, and you don't have a dry ingredient. Second problem, you're dipping the bacon in butter, to what end? Bacon contains enough fat already to season and keep anything moist on its own without adding butter. You could achieve pretty much the same result by seasoning chicken, wrapping in raw bacon and seasoning bacon(pepper only if you wish, already contains plenty of sodium), and lastly you don't need to add more olive oil, you already have plenty of oil from your recipe. Also, what is the purpose of pouring more butter after baking? It will make your crispy chicken oily and soggy, not good.

Good luck!

Oh, and if you want to add anything else, what about omitting the chicken for a stick of butter instead?
i wouldn't try it

but you should try to cut out the dipping the chicken in egg part and dipping the bacon in butter (are you serious) and cut out the olive oil part. bacon has so much of its own grease or fat that it should be fine. but anything wrapped in bacon sounds good.

just season your drumsticks with salt pepper garlic powder wrap the bacon around use toothpicks to secure and after it's almost 165 degrees.i'd slop some bbq sauce all around it
Other than flavour, I'm not sure why you would dip bacon in butter. If you're looking for butter flavour, why not grease the pan with butter instead of olive oil?

YES, it does sound good. What about coarse chopping some peppers and onions and putting them under the chicken to cook? Heck, I'd even throw in some potatoes.

Good Luck!
Sounds like a greasy mess too me.....do you really need butter with bacon?

I think take the butter out of the recipe all together sounds much better....and I'd use boneless chicken....thighs if you prefer dark meat or boneless skinless breasts
Sounds like an instant heart attack to me. Butter and oil and chicken skin and bacon. Woah!
its tempting just add bit of thyme after cooking .
